On a variable day where the sun played hide and seek among the clouds, I visited the Falls of the Ohio to see what there was to see and experience. Thus far, Spring is shaping up to be much warmer than normal and many different plants in the city where I live have flowered early. [...]

Dear readers…I have so much to post and have fallen a couple of weeks behind. The work a day world has been extra busy (and rewarding) of late. Still, I have made time to go to the river and “do my thing” to maintain my peace of mind. It’s time now to post my images [...]

A gray day with the Ohio River rising and I’m exploring this huge driftwood mound created by last spring’s flooding. Over the last few months this section has seen other minor floods and even a fire. It’s interesting to me to see how the river has a leveling effect as it flows under and moves [...]

On a recent expedition to the Falls of the Ohio I came across a small section of the Ohio River within the park that surprised me because of all the coal I found. Over this warmer than usual January, the Ohio River has fluctuated due to the rain and snow that have fallen upriver [...]

One last post before all of 2011′s sand runs through the hour-glass! Here are a few of the many rubber duckies that I have come across at the Falls of the Ohio over the years. I thought it would be a fun way to end the year. If you would like to see more ducky [...]

I met my friend the “Professor” by the old cottonwood tree that has been turned into a hang-out of sorts for the local teenagers. I don’t get to see him as often as I would like to…so the time we spend together is meaningful for me. Usually, we pick a topic to converse about and [...]

For many years I’ve been beach combing at the Falls of the Ohio and I bet I’ve looked at thousands of bottles and never found one with a note in it…until now! I was going through a bag at home where I’ve stored bottles I’ve collected in the park when I noticed one that had [...]

As promised here are a few views of the show my work is in which opened at Bellarmine University’s McGrath Gallery on September 16. The exhibit is entitled “Outcasts [...]

June began all bare bones in the aftermath of our minor flooding and now at month’s end it passes overgrown with vines. Near the tainter gates, a massive raft of driftwood lies intertwined with the landscape. We haven’t seen such a wooden mound in many years. June had some odd and compelling images and here [...]

Just left or east of the railroad bridge at the Falls of the Ohio is where this adventure occurred. The river was still high but dropping. I was enjoying working in a section of the park that I don’t normally hang out at, but have discovered is both full of wildlife and potential art materials. [...]
